3rd Year

Well, I've been silent for a long time now, and it's killing me.

An update is necessary.

So, the last couple of months of 3rd year has a been hard work, lets just say that. To be very honest, I have been very lost for last couple of weeks and still trying to find so hope out their like Pandora, I'm praying its out somewhere and I'll stumble across it very soon.

I'm currently writing my dissertation 8, 000 - 10,000 words... YAWN. My title is, 'Are we moving away from the size zero culture?' The reason why I wanted to write about body image, was really down to some of my friends and some research that I've come across recently, discussing how they aren't comfortable within there body, I'm included in this. Women constantly putting themselves down saying that, 'I'm not good enough' or 'I wish I was pretty'. The problem is with the two M's. MEN AND MEDIA. These two things combined together are recipe for disaster and make us feel awful about ourselves... and that's not what living is about. I know I'm one to talk, but I sick of being negative... Positivity and Progression are my key BUZZWORDS for 2011.

New Day, New Life.

Clogs

TK MAXX/£17.99

      ZARA/£129

Ok, so I know I'm a little late on the clog craze, tbh I wasn't a fan when they were arising onto the scene, the thought of walking on wooden plank, didn't phase me at all, however, I made a venture to my nearest TK MAXX in Epsom and stubbled across these little jems, which also have a sole padding for my tender feet and are very comfy to trot around in. As you can see the pair of the right, from Zara are obviously better quality material and ridiculously expensive, as always I opted for the cheaper version. Really need to stop doing that, but hey that's just me all over.

The photo above is very bright and they give of a 'tacky' vibe to them, which I kinda like it. Everyone needs a bit of tackiness in their lives. Haha. Live it.

My favourite pair of shoes of June.

Being a student, I'm able to participate in placement that allows me to have 10 weeks within industry taking part in something I would like to do when I finish University. I have decided to do a couple of weeks at an Events Company and Fashion Enterprise. These next couple of weeks will be an exciting opportunity for me to experience the unknown and be apart of a something spectacular. Exciting.

Lack of Everything,,,

Hello all,

Vivienne Westwood Delights

I was doing some researching in Central London today, Mayfair to by exact, for my Visual Merchandising module for University. Here is where I discovered some lovely Spring/Summer pieces ranging from Christopher Kane to Comme Des Garcons. All pieces included Nudes, Light Blues, Navy Blues, Red and Yellow in the colour combinations, very bright, colourful, fun colours to play with.

I stubbled into one of my favourite designer stores, Dame Vivienne Westwood and bagged me some beautiful shoes. There were many things I wanted to purchase like the Patent Black Clutch Purse and Bag, Amazing much.

However, when I look at them I know I can wear these shoes, with a 50's Checked Summer Dress or even a   Plaid Sleeveless Shirt with Denim High-wasted Shorts... I can just see it now. They remind me that it's Valentine's Day soon, with the beating heart situated at the front of the shoe, hopefully somebody will win my heart and fall in love me, as I have fallen for these shoes.

Check out these shoes at Vivienne Westwood on Conduit Street, Mayfair.

Love Granny Smith.

Felicity Illustrations

We all know how facebook has conquered our lives from updating our status every 5 mins to creating a shindig at the weekend with friends. The site can be used for promoting one's art, through illustrations. One lady in particular, Felicity.

Felicity Illustrations consist of a series of black and white sketches that range from portraits to rustics animal imagery. Illustrations are her dreams and her way out. Her inspiration comes from loved ones, music and nature.

She inspires me.

Grizzly Bear

I'm into the Indie/Folk at the moment as you can see. Granny has found her mellow song, 'Yay', that has been in her head for a couple weeks now, finally found out who it's by whilst at work. The song 'Two Weeks' is by a folk band called Grizzly Bear from Brooklyn, (This song is my favourite.). Don't worry their not as scary as they sound, their soft acoustics will take you somewhere in the clouds, where its peaceful and loving. When I find that place I'll let you know.

The band also have one their songs featured in the Twilight New Saga, called 'Slow Life.'

Watch Grizzle Bear here.

The Vampire Diaries

As you can tell I have a slight infatuation with American shows, but a couple of weeks ago I discovered a new heroin, 'The Vampire Diaries'.  If your are a fan of Twilight, then I would recommend you watch show just to reminisce. Although I have labelled it as the, 'Poor man's Twilight', it did satisfy my vampire fix.

It's not available in the UK, yet but you however grab a sneak preview at
The Vampire Diaries. to see how the town of Mystic Falls deal with Vampires in their ghost town. Mmuhhhaaaahhhh.... Scary huh.

The Drums

As I'm new blogger I've shed loads of post to upload on you.

I have recently discovered a band called, 'The Drums'. The singing, stringing,
twanging band from Brooklyn, New York, sound like a Joy Divison and Beach Boys mash up
with heaps of OH-ing and AH-ing into the charts and making use of the tambourine, (which I love bands should use them more often). This band is going to be around for a while, yet.

"And, have I lived my life too selfishly, baby, and
I have I lived my life too selfishly, baby and
I have I lived my life too selfishly, baby ."

Here is the video. Enjoy. I did.

Two Toned Coloured Pantyhose

RSAPHTCStyle RSAPHTC

Before I went into work yesterday for my usually 5 - 9 shift at Hennes in Covent Garden, I popped into American Apparel, where I don't usually shop but I came across a pair of two toned tights in Black and Cream. There are available in some exquisite colours such as Yellow/Coral, Lime/Turquoise and Raisin/Twilight at £10 each. You'd be a fool not to bag yourself a pair!
